The Bench gets its name from the sudden rise above downtown that looks like a step. The Central Bench covers about a square mile of it, bounded by Alpine Street, Overland Road, Curtis Road and Roosevelt Street. In its early days this was farm country that called itself Franklin, and several streets carry the names of people who brought water here. Homes filled in faster during World War II, when the airport moved to its current spot south of the Bench. Once nearly treeless, it now has more canopy than the city average.
What’s Hard on Windows in the Central Bench
Orchard, Overland and Curtis carry a lot of traffic, and street-facing glass picks up a gray road film. We scrub it off by hand with a mop, then squeegee each pane dry and wipe the frames and sills. Shade trees that have grown in over the decades drop pollen and leaves into tracks and gutters, so track detailing and gutter cleaning are easy add-ons. Screens come off outside and go back on, and our XERO machine can give them a real cleaning if you ask. Duplex and rental owners can book exterior-only visits that don’t need anyone home.
When to Book a Cleaning in the Central Bench
Spring and fall cleanings suit most Central Bench homes, and that’s our Biannual membership. If you live on Orchard or another busy street, road film comes back faster, so Quarterly visits make sense. Landlords often book a cleaning between tenants so the next renter moves in to clear glass.

Central Bench Window Cleaning FAQs
Quick answers for homes in the Central Bench, Boise.
Why do Central Bench streets have names like Morris, Ridenbaugh and Scott?
Local history says they honor people who brought water to the area back when the Bench was farm country. That water turned dry ground into fields, and later into neighborhoods. The change since then is easy to see: a place once nearly treeless now has more tree canopy than the city average.
My windows face Orchard Street and get grimy fast. What helps?
Street-side glass on busy roads collects road film quicker than the rest of the house. Our hand scrub with a mop lifts it, and a squeegee finish leaves the pane clear. Quarterly members also get our RainBlock pure water rinse, which dries spot-free with no soap left behind for dirt to cling to.
How much does window cleaning cost in the Central Bench?
Prices start as low as $175. Your exact price depends on how many windows you have, inside, outside or both, and extras like screens and tracks. Here’s what changes the price, or get a free quote.
