About the Live-Work-Create District

Garden City approved the district in 2007 so artists could live and work in the same place. It’s named for Surel Mitchell, an artist who built her home here in 1998 and pushed for the idea. That home is now Surel’s Place, which hosts the free First Friday Art and Studio Stroll each month. Walk the area and you’ll find studios, galleries, wineries like Telaya and Coiled, the Visual Arts Collective, the Riverside Hotel and the Boise Whitewater Park.

What’s Hard on Windows in the Live-Work-Create District

This stretch mixes homes, studios and tasting rooms, so we clean a little of everything here. Storefront and gallery glass picks up fingerprints and road film from Chinden traffic. Homes near the river see cottonwood fluff and pollen every late spring. For businesses, we offer commercial and storefront window cleaning on a schedule that fits your hours. For homes and live-work spaces, each pane is scrubbed by hand and squeegeed dry, frames, edges and sills are detailed, and every screen comes off and goes back on. After cottonwood season, add screen cleaning on our XERO machine, and we can detail the tracks too.

When to Book a Cleaning in the Live-Work-Create District

Galleries and tasting rooms usually stay on Monthly service, timed before First Friday so the glass is clear for the crowd. Homes do well with a spring cleaning after cottonwood season and another in fall. Live-work spaces in the Live-Work-Create District can split the difference with Quarterly.

Live-Work-Create District Window Cleaning FAQs

Quick answers for homes in the Live-Work-Create District, Garden City.

Can you clean my studio or gallery before First Friday?

Yes. Tell us it’s First Friday prep when you book, and we’ll aim for a slot ahead of the stroll. We scrub the glass by hand, detail the frames and sills, and leave the windows clear for visitors. Monthly service keeps them that way every month.

I live and work in the same building. Do you clean both sides?

We do. Live-work spaces get the same care as homes and businesses: inside and outside glass scrubbed by hand, frames and sills detailed, and screens taken off and put back on. Screen cleaning and track detailing are available as add-ons. You don’t need to move work tables or furniture.

How much does window cleaning cost in the Live-Work-Create District?

Prices start as low as $175. Your exact price depends on how many windows you have, inside, outside or both, and extras like screens and tracks. Here’s what changes the price, or get a free quote.
