Do I Need to Be Home for Window Cleaning?
Not for an outside cleaning. If we’re only cleaning the outside of your windows, you can head to work and come home to clear glass. For an inside cleaning, someone needs to be home to let us in.
Outside only: you can be gone
An exterior window cleaning happens entirely outside your home, so nobody needs to be there. You don’t need to leave the water on for us or move anything out of the way. We bring everything we need.
Inside windows: someone lets us in
For an interior window cleaning, someone needs to be home to let our tech in. You still don’t need to move furniture. We work carefully inside your home and leave it as clean as we found it. Customers notice the little things:
“Double Take came and did our windows inside and out today, including screens and we could not be more impressed. Polite, respectful in every way, even wearing booties while in our home. …”
Here’s what an interior cleaning includes.
Before cleaning day
- Two reminders. You get a text two weeks before your cleaning, and another two days before.
- A two-hour arrival window. Every visit has one, so you know when to expect us.
- Weather. Light rain doesn’t stop us. If heavy rain or unsafe wind is coming, we call you and move your cleaning to a better day.
On cleaning day
- We take your screens off.
- We scrub and squeegee every pane by hand. Never a pressure washer.
- We clean and detail the frames and sills.
- Your screens go back in, washed on our XERO screen cleaning machine if you added screen cleaning.
How long it takes depends on how many windows you have, and whether we’re cleaning inside, outside or both.
After we leave
Take a look in the morning light. If anything isn’t right, tell us within 48 hours and we’ll come back and make it right at no charge. If rain the same day leaves spots, we come back for free too. Here’s how rain works with window cleaning.
