Window Cleaning in Downtown Star

The town got its name from a wooden star nailed to the schoolhouse door, which travelers used as a landmark at night. Star first incorporated in 1905, later lost its charter, and incorporated again in 1997. The city’s downtown plan splits the area into five districts. The River District, along Main Street south of State Street, takes in Freedom Park, the ponds, disc golf, the Star Riverhouse and access to the Greenbelt. The old interurban depot is a coffee shop now.
