Is It Too Late to Get Christmas Lights Installed in Boise?
Not necessarily. It depends on how many install days are still open, and most homes take just a few hours, so a later request can still land on an open day. Send a quote request and we’ll reply within one business day.
Can you still get Christmas lights put up in December?
It depends on the calendar. Install days fill up as Christmas gets closer, so the sooner you ask, the more dates you’ll have to pick from. We can’t promise a date until we check the calendar, so send your request and ask which days are still open.
Every home is different, so the only way to know for your house is to ask. The quote is free.
How fast can you get a quote this late in the season?
We answer every quote request within one business day, with zero pressure to book. To get the clearest answer, tell us:
- How much of the house you want lit: front only, front and sides, or front, sides and back.
- Anything extra: trees or bushes to wrap, wreaths for the windows, or garland for the porch.
- Your timing: a date you’re hoping for, like a holiday party or family coming to town.

How long does a Christmas light install take?
Most homes are done in a few hours. We hang and test every strand, then walk the display with you before we leave. Second stories, tall peaks and wrapped trees take more ladder time than a single-story eave.
Does a late install get the same service?
Yes. A December install comes with everything a November one does:
- Custom-cut strands. We measure your roofline and peaks and cut every strand to fit, with no extra cords or spare lights hanging off the house.
- Commercial-grade LED lights and a weather-ready install built for Idaho winters.
- Roof-safe clips that grip your roofline without nails, screws or sticky residue, and never pull on your gutters.
- Every strand tested on install day.
- Mid-season fixes. If a strand goes dark or the weather knocks something loose, call us and we’ll come back to fix it.
- Free takedown and storage. We take everything down on a date you pick and keep your lights in our storage unit until next season.
Here’s how an install works, start to finish, and what changes the size of the job.
Will a late install cut my season short?
Not as much as you might think, because your lights don’t have to come down the day after Christmas. Takedown happens on a date you pick: right after New Year’s or a few weeks later, usually in January or February. Lights that go up in December can keep glowing well into the new year. Here’s when people around the valley put lights up and take them down.
What if it’s already snowed?
You can still ask for a quote. Every install uses commercial-grade lights and a weather-ready install built for Idaho winters, and if the weather knocks a strand loose mid-season, call us and we’ll come back to fix it.
What if this year’s dates are already full?
You still have two good options:
- Keep it simple this year. A wreath on the door or lights on the bushes by the walk can make the house feel festive and keep you off the ladder. Safety tips are below.
- Plan for next year. Ask for your quote in the fall, when you’ll have the widest choice of install dates. October is a great time.
Book late this year, and next year is easy
Once we’ve hung your lights, they come out of storage next season already cut to fit your home. Every fall we send you a quick text to get your lights back on the schedule, so you won’t be scrambling in December again.
Is it too late to hang Christmas lights yourself?
No, but late-season DIY takes more care. The days are short, and rooflines can be cold, wet or icy. If you do it yourself:
- Pick a dry, calm day and start early, so you finish in daylight.
- Stay off any roof with frost, ice or snow on it.
- Plug in and check every strand on the ground before it goes up.
- Use lights and extension cords marked for outdoor use, and plug them into a GFCI outlet.
- Hang lights with clips made for rooflines and gutters, never nails or staples.
- Set the ladder on firm, level ground and have someone hold it.

Christmas lights in your town
We hang Christmas lights on homes and businesses across the Treasure Valley, from Boise and Meridian, our home base, to Eagle, Nampa and Caldwell. Out in Emmett, install days depend on when the crew is out that way, so ask early.
Want clear windows with your lights?
Holiday guests notice the windows too. Fall, after sprinkler season ends, is a good time for exterior window cleaning, and we work on light hard water spots at every cleaning. Get a window cleaning quote too.
