EAGLE HOLIDAY LIGHTS
Eagle Country Christmas is the big day here. On a Saturday in early December, Heritage Park in downtown Eagle fills with a holiday market, carols at the lit-up gazebo, Santa in his sleigh and real reindeer. Kids warm up in a craft tent, and the evening closes with a candlestick countdown to the tree lighting. The event spent a year at City Hall while downtown was torn up for construction, then came home to Heritage Park, where a young tree now stands in for an old one that was dying. The mayor calls it the tree that could. The city even holds a Christmas card contest for elementary kids, and the winning drawing becomes the official City of Eagle Christmas card. Your own roofline can carry that small-town glow home from the park.
Eagle has a lot of custom and semi-custom homes. In Two Rivers, houses range from about 2,000 square feet to estates over 8,000, on lots up to an acre or more. Lakemoor has many waterfront lots. Bigger custom homes can mean long rooflines, tall peaks and extra corners, so we measure every line before we cut a single strand. Two Rivers also has a tree-lined setting, and trees near the house are great candidates for wrapping. We can add wreaths or garland at the entry, too. When a house backs onto a pond, a lake or the river, Front, sides and back may be worth it, since that’s the view you live with every night.
Country Christmas falls in early December, and that’s a natural target for having your house lit. Install days get scarce as the holidays get closer, so a fall quote leaves you more dates to choose from. Come January, you decide when they come down, whether that’s the week after New Year’s or later in the winter, often into February.
